Dear Parents
Thank you to all of you who were able to join boys and staff on Tuesday for our short Belmont Road vigil. Boys stood silently and still for 15 minutes in what was a very special experience. Discussions with the boys since then have also revealed their sensitivity to the issue and they have asked pertinent questions around society, our justice system, and so on.
I want to congratulate everyone involved in the Revelation production: cast, crew and staff. It has been an amazing production, extremely polished, vibrant and meaningful. This really is a show of a very high standard. There are still a few tickets available which can be bought at the door. I wouldn’t miss it.
We want to wish James Grieve and David Handley well as they participate in the SAMRO National Music Competition next week. Just getting into it is a great achievement as entry is by audition. Auditions were held across the country, so they were up against much of the best musical talent nationally.
Please check extra-mural arrangements for the next few days as our programme winds down. The boys have loved their soccer and I want to thank our staff who have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into this, with a long winter sports season behind them.
Finally, a reminder that both the Prep and the Pre-Prep close for the term a day earlier than originally planned. This Thursday (19 September) will be our last day but it will be a full school day ending at 14h15.
Kind regards
GREG BROWN
