Dear Parents
On Wednesday we welcomed our new Grade Ns and their parents to the Pre-Prep as well as the twelve Grade Rs who join in the Grade R year. At the same time our Grade 7s and their parents were at College for their New Boy House teas, meeting their Housemasters and Matric mentors. I couldn’t help being conscious of the coincidence of how the Grade 7s, only eight years ago, were being welcomed into the Pre-Prep. So much taller now, bigger and grown up, poised for the next adventure of the College years.
For the next three weeks we go into a special programme – there will be a number of outings, presentations (including on social media), all our end of year events and grade camps. A really fun time for our boys.
Now that sport is over and nearly all our boys are being collected at the same time, the traffic congestion is very problematic. Could I appeal to you to try to park further away – down towards the station or up above Erin Road or even at the College – and walk to fetch your son or have him walk to where you have arranged to park. It would also be extremely helpful if you followed our in-house rule to use Duke Road as a one way only – down towards the station – and Fir Road – driving in the direction of Belmont Road. We need everyone’s support in this.

Athletics Trophies
All boys who won trophies at Sports Day earlier this year are please to return their trophies during the course of next week. If you would like your son's name engraved on the trophy, please have it engraved and then return it as soon as possible. |
Second Hand Shop
Now is a good time to clear out the school uniform and sports kit that your son has grown out of. Please bring these items along to our Second Hand Shop where they will be gratefully received. Please ensure that the items are clean and in good condition.
The opening hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07h15 to 08h15 and 13h15 to 14h15.

A reminder to please notify Kashiefa Kerven, as well as your son's teacher and Housemaster by 09h00 at the latest, should he be absent.
If your son is marked absent by the class teacher at the start of the day, you will receive an automated email indicating this. If you have already notified the school, then please ignore this message. If you have not yet notified the school, allow this message to act as a reminder to contact the school as we need to know where the boys are at all times. |
