Dear Parents

2019 SCHOOL CALENDAR

Please see the term dates for 2019. The Western Cape Education Department schools open very early next year but we have decided to open a week later on 16 January to allow for a decent length December holiday. For the rest of the year we will fit in with the WCED dates reasonably closely in order to co-ordinate with our neighbouring schools. Could I please ask you to adhere to these holiday dates as we do want to teach right up to the end of each term and with more and more families starting the holidays earlier, it is becoming disruptive and boys away during school time will be disadvantaged.

FATHER TERRY WILKE

Father Terry has been in hospital since Saturday and is seriously ill. Please keep Terry, Rosemary and their children and family in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.

Prayer Group

A reminder about the Prep Parents Prayer Group that meets every Tuesday morning at 07h35 in the Rossall Pavilion. All are welcome. Please direct any queries to jwoolls@bishops.org.za.
Pentagular Athletics Meeting

This event will take place on Tuesday 20 February at Lutgensvale. Please find the list of athletes participating HERE and the order of events HERE. Please volunteer for a shift in the Tuck Shop if your son is participating. They need all hands on deck. The Grade 7's are running a Boerewors Roll stand and still have a few slots open for Grade 7 parents to volunteer there. If you can assist with either of these, please click HERE and select the BOOK NOW button to book your slot. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kids' Literature Quiz
On Wednesday Andrew Betty, Max Estcourt, Robert Forrest and Michael Kotze took part in the annual Kids' Lit Quiz. Thirty five teams answered literature-related questions for three hours. The eventual winners were Sweet Valley with St George's in second place. Fun was had by all and it illustrated that books and reading are alive and well. Congratulations to our team for being fine ambassadors for Bishops.
Inter-house Sports Day

 
Congratulations to the boys on a fantastic display of both talent and spirit at our Sports Day last Friday and thanks to parents for your enthusiastic support.
Sandwich Outreach

 
Well done to the Grade 4s for showing great enthusiasm in making sandwiches. We look forward to the same commitment from the Grade 5s next week!

Founders Day Carnival - 16 March 2018

 



Preparations for the annual carnival are well underway. Please support your PA and Class Reps as much as possible over the coming weeks and don't forget to diarise the date and spread the word.
