Outreach
A huge thank you to everyone who has sent in knitted squares or completed blankets. These have gone to the old age home in Lavender Hill. More squares and blankets are welcome.
Thanks also to those of you who have sent in second-hand school shoes and wool for a crochet project at a Khayelitsha school. Some of last year's market day money has been used to bolster the wool donation. More shoes, wool and hooks are still welcome.
Entries are flying in for Pup Idols 2018. This project is in aid of the Guide Dogs Association. The cost is R5 per entry. Cat and other animal photos are welcome.
Next Friday 24 August is Civvies Day. This term, we'll be collecting dog and cat food. Leashes, bowls, blankets, brushes, etc are all welcome. The food will be donated to the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha, the Prince Albert Animal Welfare and other local shelters.
Finally, a reminder that we are still collecting bread tags (Breadtags for Wheelchairs) and plastic bottle tops (Operation Smile). The wheelchairs will benefit patients at Tygerberg Hospital. Tags and tops may be dropped off at the library.
