FRIDAY 19 October 2018
Dear Parents

Thank you to all of you who have generously made donations towards our new Library and Learning Centre project. The project also includes relocating our computer offices to upstairs in the Design and Technology Centre and consequently the conversion of the vacated space into large, well-positioned classrooms. So it involves a great deal of change and is a very exciting stage in our development. The Sprint Campaign continues so please see a communication from The Bishops Trust below.

At the end of the year we lose three long serving members of staff: Anne MacDonald and Tom Campbell, who are both retiring, as well as Greg Shuttleworth who takes up a post at Ladbrooke Preparatory in the UK next year. I will do a proper farewell and thanks later in the year as well as provide information of new staff. With Greg's resignation the Van der Bijl Housemaster position became vacant and an internal application and interview process was undertaken. I am pleased to inform you that Khwezi Mqomboti has been appointed as VdB Housemaster from the start of 2019. Congratulations to him.

Kind regards

GREG BROWN

NEWS
Prep Library and Learning Centre
Thank You! An incredible effort by the Prep and Pre-Prep parents who have collectively raised just under R300,000 toward the new Prep Library and Learning Centre.

Congratulations to Grade 5S who won the Pizza Day and a special thank you to Butlers Pizza for delivering the sought after prize.

As this fundraiser enters its last trimester, the campaign leadership is confident that the Bishops community will rise to the occasion, helping to close the 2.7 million shortfall by 1 December 2018. The belief in this project thus far has been inspiring. That is how we have been able to achieve R8.8 of the R11.5 million goal. Together, we can deliver a productive, modern learning space for our children and to those of future generations. We are grateful to have received gifts from so many of our current families and ODs.

Donations will benefit each and every Prep Pupil for years to come and contributions are tax deductible. Once completed this project will provide the learning space our boys require to advance in a technologically accelerated era.

Please contact the Trust Office to discuss naming rights and other recognition
