FRIDAY 21 September 2018
Dear Parents

It is always good to remind our boys to be grateful for what they have in their lives and the importance of manners, integrity, tolerance, respect and empathy as the core values that we constantly strive to uphold. Also to remember their culture and beliefs and the amazing diversity that we have in our country as we celebrate Heritage Day on Monday.

It was wonderful to hear from the Mdzananda Animal Clinic form Khayelitsha in Assembly this morning thanking the boys for their generosity towards the welfare of their animals.

Thank you to all of you who have donated towards the charity supported by our Cross Country boys who have their camp this weekend at High Noon in Villiersdorp. We wish them well and an enjoyable camp.

Our U13A cricketers depart for East London on Wednesday morning to participate in the Cape Schools Cricket week hosted by Selborne Primary. We wish them all a great experience.

Have a relaxing long weekend.

Kind regards

NEWS
Pentagular Cross Country
The much awaited Pentangular Cross Country event was held last Friday. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the runners. At the end of the day, all the runners and spectators departed with smiles on their face. SACS emerged as the overall winner with our team taking the second place. It was a day filled with school pride, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. Thanks to all the staff that made this event a success and thanks to all the parents for their cooperation and support.

The U11's  deserve a special mention for winning their age group and well done to Luan Krige and Sebastian von Borman for attaining positions 1 and 3 in their age groups respectively.

Well done to all the runners and enjoy the Cross Country Camp this weekend!

Ecobricks
During the holidays, 133 Ecobricks will be dropped off for use as bricks on construction sites. Well done to everyone who has filled 2l bottles with non-recyclable waste. Please continue to fill bottles but next term please do not send them to the library. We need to begin packing up the library in preparation for the big renovation. There are various drop-off points around Cape Town, Montebello in Newlands being our nearest.
Burger Day
250 burgers were sold in half an hour today to raise funds for the upgrading of the ablutions at St Pauls. A wait in the queue was well worth it for the delicious burgers. Well done to the PA and all involved!
