Dear Parents
You might have seen the Pre-Prep production of “Aristocats” this week. A forty-five minute delight of music and humour – a testimony to what heights our boys can reach no matter their age. Over the weekend the cast and crew of “Revelation” will move into the theatre for their last two weeks of rehearsals. Performances run from 11-14 September and booking is now open at the School Shop. “Revelation” is a brand new musical that we will premiere on the 11th, so do make sure to attend.
We now go fully into our soccer season with Inter-House soccer matches next week before the Inter-School fixtures. Hockey has ended on a high with Inter-House this last Monday and the U12 Day/Night Tournament on Tuesday. Tomorrow we have the SACS 7s Rugby Tournament and next Saturday Inter-House Rugby. As hockey and rugby finish, please encourage your son to participate in this soccer season.
Next week Wednesday at 11h00, please join us for our Family Service in the Chapel – it will be the last of the year.
Finally, a reminder that there is no report this term but you can follow your son’s progress on myBishopsLife.

| Rick the Bear goes to the U 11C team this week for a great team performance against Rondebosch. Well done, lads! |
| Sandwich Outreach |

| The Grade 4’s contributed over 800 sandwiches and 2 crates full of delicious fresh fruit to Athwood Primary. Well done to our wonderful boys who pitched in with big hearts, helping hands and wide smiles! |
| Book Outreach |

| Four boxes of books collected on Madiba Day were very gratefully received by Athwood Primary this week. Mr Petersen, the principal, has set reading and feeding as his priorities. There are 600 pupils at the school, 200 of which are fed by Peninsula School Feeding. The school itself then raises money to feed the rest.
The public library is in the heart of gangland so the children are relying more and more on the school library for books. They love the library and Grade 1 and 2 results are slowly improving. Our school librarian, Sue Kieswetter, saw teachers, cooks, social workers and the remedial/aftercare person all really working to improve the lot of the learners and was most inspired to see what was being done under very trying circumstances.

U12 Day/Night Hockey Tournament
Well done to the organisers and participants for a great afternoon and evening of fun-filled hockey played in a competitive spirit. Congratulations to Rondebosch Boys and Springfield on their well -deserved victories.
