FRIDAY 4 October 2019
Dear Parents

Welcome back to the new term. It has been a busy holiday for the school and I want to compliment all those involved in hosting a very successful twelve school Bishops Cricket Festival, rain notwithstanding. A number of families were also on the Orange River and our U13A water polo team are taking part in the SACS Water Polo Festival at the moment. Next week our 1st Cricket X1 will tour to Johannesburg.

This is a busy term as always with plenty of work to finish in the classroom and a number of special events. We now have the full run of the school which is a huge relief and it is wonderful to see so many of the boys enjoying the library at break time. We will be sending out an invitation shortly for the opening of our new library.

Finally, please do not arrange to leave early for your holiday this term. The last two weeks are very memorable ones with a number of special events: gala, “Bishops Got Talent”, go-kart races, Carol Service, Grade 4-7 camps, Grade 3 Celebration and Prizegiving. It really brings the year to a fitting end and our boys need to experience it and they always enjoy it.

Best wishes.

Kind regards

TAKE Note

PA Talk

Our boys are growing up in a highly complex and changing world. We see now how fear of the unknown can cause uncertainty and polarization that limits the future progress of society, where all humans can live out their dreams. As parents, let’s participate in the conversations and be part of the change. Come and listen to Lovelyn, be encouraged and inspired to partake in the meaningful discussions.

Cricket Festival

The Cricket Festival was a great success, despite the weather. A very big thank you to all involved, in particular the parents that hosted and those who assisted with the Sunday braai.
