FRIDAY 7 September 2018
Dear Parents

Greg and Lynn Brown left for their overseas trip on Wednesday evening and we wish them safe travels and a wonderful relaxing holiday.

The Hockey and Rugby seasons come to a close this week. The U13A Hockey side will be participating in the Top Schools Tournament this afternoon and evening at Hartleyvale. Our Inter-House Rugby takes place tomorrow morning at Lutgensvale; a fun morning, involving every rugby player in the Prep.

Our Soccer season has been on the go all term with inter-class matches at lunch breaks and for the last two weeks, skills sessions for boys and the coaches plus, afternoons of Inter-House Soccer. We move into our matches next week playing the Diski Foundation on Thursday and Wynberg on Saturday.

We have launched the campaign for our new Prep Library; a very exciting venture as it will produce a wonderful progressive resource centre for all our boys. Every boy has received a brochure to take home. Please support this project, read the note from the Trust office and follow the link for more detailed information.

I wish you a great weekend.

Outreach - VUSA Rugby Academy

Vusa Rugby Academy have had a great season. Please take the time to watch this inspiring video. Should you wish to contribute in any way please contact Brendan Fogarty.

The Prep Library and Learning Centre

A brochure will go home with all Prep and Pre-Prep learners detailing the plans for the new Prep Library and Learning Centre.

We hope all parents will support this campaign in whatever capacity they can. For those of you who have visited the Prep library in recent years, you will be aware that this is a much needed upgrade. The Trust has thus far raised R8.5 million and we require an additional R3 million for completion. We hope for building to begin in December so as not to be too disruptive.

All donations will be publically recognized (unless anonymity is requested) and as the Bishops Trust is a registered PBO, donations to this project are tax deductible expenses and will therefore reduce your taxable income.

Please could you each sign and return the pledge form that was sent home with your child in order to confirm receipt thereof; a pizza day prize will be offered to the class who returns the most forms.

A display will be set up with the architect’s renderings in the Prep reception and at Jagger Hall. Alternatively, for more information, please see HERE or contact Nikki Matthews at the Bishops Trust Office.
