FRIDAY 9 March 2018
Dear Parents

It was wonderful to see Rowan Piorkowski at school yesterday at lunchtime to celebrate his 11th birthday with the Grade 5s on Rossall. The boys were really thrilled to have him with them and rushed across when the bell went; a real blessing for us all. Rowan will return to school from Monday for parts of the day according to how tired he gets. We wish him well as he get his strength back and starts returning to a normal daily routine.

Next Friday is the school’s Founders’ Day which we will observe with an assembly and a special programme during the day, including the annual Inter-House Tug-of-War Competition. In the afternoon is our Carnival starting at 16h00 and going on into the evening. It is always a great event for our families and our boys really look forward to it. Please try to be there – other friends and family are very welcome.

Best wishes for a good weekend.

Kind regards

NEWS
Grade 7 Dalebrook Excursion
Last week the Grade 7 boys went on an Excursion to Dalebrook. The boys enjoyed seeing for themselves the way the various animals and plants locate themselves according to the way the tides rise and fall. There was great excitement when fan worms were seen opening and closing and when a cuttlefish and an octopus were caught and put temporarily in a bowl for all to see. Afterwards the boys enjoyed swimming in the tidal pool.
Sandwich Outreach
The Grade 7s put in a good effort for the sandwiches this week. Next week, it's back to the Grade 3's.
Outreach

Moms have been hard at work covering books for the St Paul's Primary library. These books were bought with money raised by the 2017 Grade 7s at their market day.

A big thank you to everyone who has donated marshmallow Easter eggs so far. These eggs will go a long way to brightening up the Easter of some of the less fortunate children in the wider community. The collection will continue next week if you'd still like to contribute.
