FRIDAY 13 November 2020
Dear Parents

Firstly, I want to wish all our Hindu families a very Happy Diwali. May your Diwali celebrations be a special time with family and friends.

During the week of 23 November we will start an Enrichment programme which will consist of a number of different activities for each grade. These have been carefully chosen and will include a range of fun activities and presentations. There will be some cost, as a number of external presenters are included, but we have endeavoured to keep these as low as possible. Whole school events such as the Championship Gala have been broken up into grade groups and in all the events we have taken into account space and social distancing. Where there are events such as the Grade 3 Celebration and Leavers’ Service which include parents, parents need to be screened before entering the venue.

The last two weeks will be a very enriching time for the boys; fun, interesting, relaxed but busy, so please do send your son to school right until the last day. We regard these two weeks as very important for our boys, not least because this has been a very difficult year and our boys have had to miss out on so much.

Enjoy the weekend.

Kind regards

GREG BROWN

Toy Collection

Every year it is our tradition to donate toys (new and good second-hand) to children in our community that are less fortunate than ourselves. This is usually done at the annual Carol Service. As the Carol Service will be online this year, we are requesting that boys bring a toy (unwrapped) to school on Friday 20 November. This is not a civvies day, just a toy collection.

Second Hand Shop

As we are nearing the end of the year, it is an excellent time to do a review and clean out of your son's school uniform and sports clothes. Please bring the items you no longer require, cleaned and in good condition, to our Second Hand Shop. They particularly need blue Quantec shorts.

A reminder that the opening hours are currently Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 07h45 to 08h15.

A very moving Remembrance Day Service was held on Wednesday. Well done to our trumpeters, William Prestage and Sebastian von Bormann for their beautiful rendition of the Last Post and Reveille.
