Dear Parents
I think this has been one of the most difficult newsletters I have had to write in the 30+ years that I have been involved in Education. The unknown journey that we find ourselves on, is unsettling for us all. We ask that you be mindful of your movements, gatherings and interactions with others. Slowing the spread is beneficial to us all and our social responsibility.
There have been many parents requesting work for this time that school is closing. We have prepared a link for work should we not be able to return to school after the official school holidays. We are regarding the extra two weeks, as are the state schools, as an extended holiday. We will be ready for any type of learning platform should we be required to provide work after 14th April, which is when school is due to reopen. In the meantime, please feel free to take a look at some of these 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ideas that may help you through this long holiday time. Grade 2 boys took some homework packs home today so if your son was not at school, please try and pop in to collect his books and homework folders from their lockers. This will help when work is sent out should we not return on 14th April as work in these workbooks will be set by the teachers.
Going outdoors is not cancelled, listening to music and dancing is not cancelled, quality time with our families is not cancelled, reading a book is not cancelled, sharing with friends is not cancelled, singing out loud is not cancelled, laughing has not been cancelled, sharing HOPE with others has not been cancelled. Let's EMBRACE what we have. From Kelly's Treehouse.
Take this time to connect as families. We will be in communication should there be any changes closer to the time of returning to school. Take care.
Kind regards
SHARLENE GROOM
