Dear Parents

We head into week 6 of this new term and we are very quickly heading to the middle of this new year. We have endured the risks and restrictions that Covid-19 has required and we remain mindful of the safety of boys, parents and staff.  While we are still limited in so many respects, we continue to strive to find new and creative ways of doing things and maintaining a fun and exciting way to present the curriculum to these vibrant and engaging young boys.

Thank you once again to the amazing parents who are screening boys from 7 – 7.30am every morning.  This is such a huge help and we really appreciate your assistance. If there are any other parents who would be kind enough to even do one duty once in a while, we would appreciate your help. Please email Ms Manyela bmanyela@bishops.org.za to be added to the roster.

Please be reminded to send a jersey to school every day in this unpredictable weather. May you all find some time to enjoy some special family time this weekend.  For the sport enthusiasts, be sure to check the live sport links for the Bishops vs Paul Roos, rugby and hockey.

Wishing Mrs Sharon Alberts a very happy birthday for Friday 21 May.

Kind regards

SHARLENE GROOM

Grade N and R boys will attend chapel at 8am. Please make every effort to get boys to school a little earlier so that they can head off to chapel timeously.
TAKE NOTE

Morning Drop off

A gentle reminder that the top gate near the hall is open from 7am for screening and morning holding.  Should boys arrive between 7 and 7.30am they should be scanned and enter via this gate where they will be supervised until 7.30am.  The bottom drop and go area is only open from 7.30am for drop off.

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Message from our Youth Pastor

In the reading, John says: “Perfect love casts out fear.” The writer refers to the unconditional, abiding love of God.

We are, all of us, a mixture of love and fear. We go back and forth between them. When we are addressed in love, we are able to be open, receiving, peaceable, ready to be concerned for others. When we are overpowered by fear, we are likely to be hidden and closed, either cowering or aggressive, agitated and anxious, mostly preoccupied with ourselves.

Yesterday we celebrated Ascension Day and our chapel Service was a great moment for us to reflect on the love of God. God sent his son to fulfil His big dream for humanity and the cosmos. Christ did all that was expected and now we continue to do what He has instructed us to do. May we continue to love others, embrace the vulnerable and careful the earth.

God Loves you
