Dear Parents
What an exciting start to a wonderful 2019. A huge welcome back to all parents and boys. Thank you for all looking so smart and we look forward to a wonderful journey together. To any new parents and boys, a warm welcome to you all, we trust that you will have a happy experience with us at Bishops Pre-Prep. Some words of inspiration to our little Grade N boys from Dr Seuss: You're off to great places, Today is your day, your mountain is waiting so get on your way!
We look forward to meeting all parents at the upcoming parent evenings at school in the next week. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your son's teacher and hear some important information. A very warm welcome too, to our new staff members Ms Chanelle Haumann and Ms Yoliswa Mphahlele as well as our interns Ms Shemone Rudolph and Ms Yi-Yi Lin. Rev. Monwibisi Peter has joined us as our new Chaplain and we look forward to visiting him in the Chapel regularly.
New parents to Bishops would have received a further invitation to a reception next week. We do hope to see as many new parents there as possible.

Sport
All extra murals begin on Monday 21 January. Please make sure boys are correctly dressed for the respective sports and that they are aware of what they are participating in. For any further sport queries offered by the school (not private sport sessions) please contact Mrs Anstey canstey@bishops.org.za. It is extremely important to excuse boys if they are not going to attend an activity. Boys are not excused from sport for playdates or birthday parties. Privately offered sport is offered by various coaches; these can be viewed on our website via the drop-down boxes where sign up details are available. Please think carefully before over committing your son to sport every afternoon.
Sunblock and water is a very important addition on days that boys have sport. Without a hat or the correct kit, boys will not be permitted to be outside in the sun to participate in activities. |

Meetings take place every Thursday during the term and will start again next year on Thursday, 25 January from 7:45 in the Art Room.

Prep Carnival
The Prep Carnival takes place on 1 March 2019. Please contact Charmaine Cheminais at charmaine.cheminais@gmail.com should you be interested in joining the Carnival Committee. |
2019 Car Stickers
As for previous years, parents are required to display a Bishops security sticker on their vehicles (top left corner) for easy access to the property. Two stickers will be sent home with your son as soon as they become available. |
Flowers and Sandwiches
Each Tuesday our boys bring an extra sandwich to school to donate to our friends at Athwood Primary School. Very kind parents deliver these eagerly awaited treats to the school. Another appeal is for parents to provide flowers for our foyer once a week. We are looking for one parent who could kindly co-ordinate this roster as well as parents who would be willing to provide the flowers for the foyer. If you would like to be part of the flower or sandwich delivery team, please contact Wendy van Heerden at wvanheerden@bishops.org.za to offer your services. All help is immensely appreciated. |

Loving Maths
The Grade 2 boys were visited by Mr Steve Sherman for a demonstration lesson this morning. Groups will meet in the Pre-Prep Library every Tuesday morning from 7:15 to 7:45am. Any Grade 2 boys who are interested in attending may join the group this Tuesday, 22nd January for a trial lesson and more information about how to sign up and costs involved.
