Dear Parents

The term has come to an end and we look forward to a short, but welcome break. We had a visit from one of our old Pre-Prep boys who is presently studying at UCT.  He entertained us with the most beautiful singing and will be back in the new term to do some drama lessons with our Grade 1 and 2 boys.  As an OD, we are honoured to offer him an opportunity to give back to our boys and to inspire them to believe that their dreams can all come true! Thando Skwatsha, you are amazing and we look forward to your involvement next term.

Today I include some more affirmations for your children. Use them abundantly!

* That was such a kind thing to do.

* You give the best hugs

* You have such great ideas.

* I can see your inner strength

Many parents have expressed their concern about the car park area near our hall.  As you are all aware this is a public parking space but we are putting further measures in place to ensure that this area is more secure.  A new CCTV camera will be installed during the holidays and we are negotiating with both UCT and Rondebosch, to add a trained security guard up at the parking area. I will update you on this in the new term.

Happy holidays to you all.  Wishing you all a safe and peaceful rest.

Kind regards

TAKE NOTE
Extra Murals

Extra murals start on the 7th of October. Please check the website for the Sport Calendar. Activities will continue as per Term 1 so there is no need to sign up again.. The only change is the Gr R chess (Mrs Nolte's class will be doing chess this term) and Gr 1 Squad swimming starts next term (see details below).
Gr 1 and Gr 2 Squad Swimming

Squad swimming will start for Gr 1s and Gr 2s next term. A form will be sent out in the first week of the term to the Gr 1 and Gr 2  parents to fill in, if they want their boys to take part in the Swimming Trials.
School uniform

Boys will go back to wearing summer uniforms next term. A suggestion would be to check that their brown sandals still fit them as many boys have grown immensly over the Winter. Please be sure to send a jersey to school as some days can get quite chilly still.  Hats are necessary for outside play. Please note that Pre-Prep boys do not wear peak caps for sport, they are required to wear their wide brimmed khaki hat for afternoon activities and break times.

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Prayer

From our assembly and divinity lesson, we prayed and shared a lot around the importance of being stewards and carers of the world we live in. As we conclude our focus on God’s creation, lets us pray we one accord: Creator, forgive us. The earth is yours and everything that is in it. But we forget. In our arrogance we think we own it. In our greed we think we can steal it. In our ignorance we worship it. In our thoughtlessness we destroy it. We forget that you created it. To bring praise and joy to you. That you gave it as a gift, for us to steward,

For us to enjoy, for us to see more clearly Your beauty and Your majesty.

Lord in your mercy

Hear our prayer

Many thanks

Father Monwabisi
