Dear Parents
We have certainly had a full and eventful week. Despite the hot weather, we started off with the Grade 1 boys going on an outing to St James Beach on the train and the Grade R boys on a sensory adventure trail in Greenpoint Park. What fun all the boys had. Thank you so much to all parents who so kindly lifted and chaperoned the boys. We are so grateful for the time you give up to facilitate these occasions.
Some of our boys participated in the Quadrangular Athletics Meeting held at Bishops on Tuesday. It was fantastic to see the growth in these runners and the confidence that they are developing through these experiences. Winning is of course their aim and sometimes it is difficult to learn to deal with not coming first but these are valuable life lessons that one needs to experience to build resilience.
Yesterday our U8 swimmers participated in a relay gala at Rondebosch. Even though some boys only swam one or two races, they did incredibly well and can be extremely proud of themselves and their team. Well done to all the swimmers, who have also shown immense improvement since the beginning of the year, despite the loud starting gun that seems to give them the biggest fright!
We ended the week with our termly Family Chapel Service this morning. Thank you to all those parents who took the time to come and share this experience with the boys. It is an important part of our school and one that we take pride in.
