Dear Parents

Thank you for supporting us in improving the parking situation in Duke and Fir Roads. You will have seen that we have put out large beacons along the Rossall side of Duke Road as far as Fir Road and we intend extending this up to the intersection of Duke and Erin Road. This means that boys walking up to sport have unfettered access to the pavements; without beacons, boys have to walk in the road or bump cars with their kit if they go through the narrow “tunnel” left on the pavement when parents have parked on it.  The safety of our boys is paramount.

It is human nature to want to park as close as possible to a pick up or drop off point, but it is problematic around a school. Please use the parking area next to the Campground Road subway or the one near to the station. It is not too far to walk for parents or boys. Alternatively, arrive slightly later (10 or 15 minutes) once the initial congestion has eased. As always, I thank you in advance for your support with this very important issue.

Enjoy our sport and activity-free weekend. I am sure it will give everyone a chance to catch their breath.

Kind regards

GREG BROWN

Volunteering at VUSA

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who have signed up to assist with the VUSA ECD Programme following our call-to-action last week.  The first group of volunteers went out to Dalukhanyo Pre-School yesterday and are excited to head back next week!

The aim of our programme is to get two to three people to sign up to the roster each week and grow our database of volunteers coming out to Langa! If you have availability on a Tuesday morning (11.30 – 12.15) please consider signing up to this special programme.  A larger volunteer group ensures the programme continues and means you don't have to commit weekly.
The programme works with children aged 4-6 years old and activities  will include puzzles, playdough, reading and games.
Please contact Nikki Matthews (0794374276) or Aoife Doherty (076 052 2405) should you be interested in participating in the rewarding initiative. For more information on the VUSA Academy, please watch THIS short clip.

OD Dinner
