Dear Parents

Tomorrow is Founders Day. In assembly we will give thanks for and celebrate our, school, acknowledging all those from Bishops Robert Gray to the present who have built and grown Bishops from its small and humble beginning to what it is today. After assembly we have the exciting and very competitive Inter-House Tug of War. At break each boy will receive something to eat and drink to replenish their energy. The Relay Gala in the Prep pool rounds off our programme. Parents are most welcome to attend the gala from 11h00 – 13h00.

Please remember the following:

  • School closes at 13h20.
  • Art club continues

Inter-House Relay Gala

Tomorrow is our annual Inter-House Relay Gala. It starts at 11h00 and should finish by 13h00.

  • All boys must come to school in their House T-shirt, blue shorts and takkies.
  • Boys must bring their swimming costumes, a towel and googles with them.

Parents are welcome to attend and support.

Outreach - Easter Egg Collection

As Easter approaches, we are excited to continue to support the boys and girls of St Paul’s Primary School in Bo Kaap and deliver a wonderful gift of chocolate goodies at the end of term! Boys are encouraged to bring a strip or box of marshmallow eggs during these last 3 weeks of term. Collection baskets are ready in the library! Boys can hop on down and place their donation any morning before school or lunch break. We are proud that some-bunny special in our community has an Easter treat coming their way very soon.

School Leadership 2023

 
Congratulations to these boys on their leadership roles for 2023. We wish them all the best.
Library News
Our Grade 4s are taking part in a Global Bookmark Swop, twinned with a school in Zaragoza, Spain. They are watching videos about each other's schools and making a personalised greeting video. Students are assigned a name to design for and courier across! They are very excited about sending off and receiving designs at the end of term!
Weekly Winners

The Polo Panda this week was awarded to the U9 boys who attend Splash Polo on Saturdays, for their commitment and dedication to the sport.

Weekly Crickets Awards: The Hershelle Gibbs Award for Catch of the week was awarded to Ibraheem Taliep for taking an incredible diving catch in the deep to dismiss their best batsman and prevent a certain 6.
The Vince van der Bijl award for Bowling Performance of the Week was awarded to John Hewat for taking 4 wickets for 12 runs during the T20 competition match against Wynberg. A great exhibition of off spin bowling.
The Jonathan Bird award for Batting Performance of the Week was awarded to Angus Hofmeyr for scoring 53 not out in a very mature knock to enable his team to set a winning total.
