THURSDAY 2 November 2023
Dear Parents

UNIFORM
We are experiencing problems with some boys who are flouting our uniform rules, so this is just a reminder so that you can assist in ensuring that your son is correctly dressed:

  • Sports kit is only worn at school from the start of the day if he has Phys Ed before tea break (you can check his timetable on myBishopsLife).
  • We are now in summer uniform, so the tracksuit may no longer be worn with the khaki uniform. It can be worn with the sports kit.
  • If a boy has sport before school, he must change into khakis for the school day.
  • Caps must now be worn.

In addition, he needs to arrive at school neatly dressed: shirt tucked in, top button done up and tie on, socks pulled up and laces tied. This sounds obvious I know, but boys do need to be constantly reminded.

HAIR
Hair might also be an issue. House Directors will be checking boys’ hair over the next few days. We do not want the “gnashing of teeth” that comes when a boy has to have his hair cut in the second last week of term. A decent cut now should ensure that his hair remains neat and acceptable for school until Prizegiving.

I always tell the boys that we do not want to waste our time chasing these small issues, but they are important nevertheless for a school with a uniform and one where we are proud of our colours.

After three weeks of nailbiting Bok watching, I hope this will be a relaxing weekend for you.

Kind regards

Artists of the week

What do patterns and weaving have in common? The Grade 3s learnt about repeat patterns and applied their understanding of this concept to decorate a paper plate with patterns and then used wool to weave a frame around the edge. The following boys were chosen as Artists of the Week for their vibrant work:

3B Cooper Payne, Thomas Saunders, Abraham Van Wyk and Jack Whiteman
3P David Brien, Isma-eel Domingo, Finn Hersov and Khaya McCann
3S Finn Dutton, James Fuchs, MingJun Qiu and Oliver Van Zyl

Well done to these boys. Please click HERE to view all the artwork.
