Dear Parents

iPADS
Do remember to check your son’s iPad on a regular basis. If you are allowing him to use any messaging services, please be aware that he can contact anyone via the platform. He does not need this facility for school purposes and any work collaboration can be done via Teams. While our system blocks anything like this at school, it is important that what they might use the iPad for at home is monitored. You make the rules. If you wish to disable messaging on your son’s iPad, please click this link: https://prep.bishops.org.za/documents/iMessagingDocAug2025.pdf

A reminder that all Grade 4-7 parents have access to the Klikd app which gives regular advice on digital trends, games, gaming and any difficulties that young people are experiencing in the online world. If you have not yet downloaded it, I do think it is a good idea to do so; their balanced and realistic insights of a rapidly changing digital world are very valuable and they also include advice for yourselves as the parents.

SECURITY
Please be very careful about leaving valuables in your car. There are many cases of remote jamming outside the Pre-Prep and at the Spar in Campground Road. A number of staff and parents have had laptops, handbags and wallets stolen out of their cars. Please be absolutely sure that your car is definitely locked before your leave it.

AROUND THE SCHOOL
We have had reports of parents stopping in front of the various school driveways; please keep these areas cleared at all times as the build up with a car waiting to go into the school causes great congestion. Please be considerate of others. Remember to use Duke Road in the direction of Rondebosch station and Fir Road heading to Belmont Road during peak times.

Best wishes

Kind regards
