PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION
I want to thank Bruce Darné who has served as Chair for the last two years. He has been a pleasure to work with and has been very supportive and committed to building community. He has had to step down early though (before the AGM) for business reasons. Sally Duncan, a current member of the Committee has been nominated to replace Bruce as Chair and has stepped up without hesitation, so we can be very grateful for this. She has already represented the PA at two Council meetings.
WINTER PROGRAMME
As we finish our winter sports this week with a number of tournaments, I want to thank you for your wonderful support of the boys as they throw themselves into what is on offer. It is always a pleasure to meet you at the side of the field or the pitch, knowing that these times watching your son and engaging with other families are special, precious moments in your parenting life. We take part in a number of tournaments/festivals this week and also host the U12 Day/Night Hockey Tournament this evening for a number of boys’ and girls’ schools.
Next week we start our two week soccer programme which our boys are looking forward to.
At the same time, a number of our senior boys are also very busy rehearsing for our musical, Bugsy Malone, and some of them have spent five days through the weekend being filmed for an aspect of the show. This including closing a street in Cape Town and a simulated car chase. Quite something! Bugsy Malone will be staged at the end of October and more information about bookings will follow later in the month. Best wishes

| We were very privileged to have some of the College 1st XV join us in Assembly last Friday morning. The highlight was them joining the whole school in the war cry. Their message to the Prep boys was "Play as if it was your last game!" Please visit our social media pages for photos and videos. |
