Dear Parents
A warm welcome to all our returning families, and a very special welcome to those joining the Prep School for the first time. It was wonderful welcoming your boys back to school on Wednesday. They certainly looked happy to return – as did the parents!
A new year brings fresh opportunities for learning, growth and connection. As Nelson Mandela reminded us, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Let us work together to ensure every boy feels supported, inspired and encouraged to do his best in all aspects of school life.
At yesterday’s Chapel service, we welcomed all the Grade 3s, as well as a number of boys and staff who are new to, and some well known at, Bishops: Mrs Sue Burgess – Grade 4P substitute teacher; Mrs Sue Kieswetter – substitute Intermediate Phase teacher; Mr Keanu Julius – Grade 3 intern; and Ms Kamva Songxishe – Grade 3 Intern.
Thank you for ensuring that your son returned to school neatly dressed and with a neat haircut. We ask our boys to stand tall, proud and neat in their school uniform at all times, remembering that they represent not only themselves, but also their families and their school. Please ensure that all uniform and personal belongings are clearly labelled so that misplaced items can quickly find their way home. We also encourage lunch boxes to be filled with healthy, nourishing food to sustain learning throughout the day.
As we begin this exciting term together, may it be filled with learning, laughter, meaningful friendships and many memorable moments. We look forward to a safe, happy and successful term ahead.
Kind regards
CHRIS GROOM
