Dear Parents

Sixteen years ago, to the day, Bafana Bafana played Mexico in the opening match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This moment remains a high-water mark in our national memory and consciousness. It was a time of considerable togetherness, shared purpose and unity – a gift to our nation. Reflecting on it, you cannot help but recall the euphoria and headiness of that moment.
On Tuesday, 16 June, our attention will turn to a more solemn milestone in our history. We will remember the youth of 1976, whose courage and resilience shaped our country in profound ways. This year marks 50 years since the Soweto Uprising, during which many young people lost their lives. It is a moment for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.
Next Wednesday, our Grade 7 boys, accompanied by their teachers, will depart for KwaZulu-Natal for their much-anticipated tour. This experience is an important rite of passage in the life of a Prep boy. We wish them every success as they enjoy the warmth of the East Coast, represent the school in sport and cultural activities, and strengthen the bonds they share.
Due to the short week next week, there will be no newsletter.
Kind regards
LESTER LALLA
HEADMASTER

Bramley House has been buzzing with activity! Last week they hosted their much-loved annual cupcake sale—a sweet success! A big thank you goes out to the entire school community for their support, and especially to the wonderful Bramley moms who helped decorate the delicious treats. Every cupcake sold contributed to a great cause, with all proceeds going to charity.
And the fun didn’t stop there! The Bramley Grade 3s, 4s and 5s had a fantastic movie night last Thursday. With plenty of tasty snacks to enjoy. It’s safe to say the evening was a hit all round!
