Dear Parents
We are looking forward to welcoming the boys on Monday, dressed in clothing that reflects their own heritage. This is a wonderful opportunity to remind them that their heritage is an important part of who they are. Boys may wear clothing that reflects either their own heritage or that of a South African cultural group.
We would also like to remind you of Mr Lalla's request in last week's newsletter: "While we understand the appeal of supporter jerseys for many of our boys, this is not the purpose of the day."
It was wonderful to see so many parents at the Family Chapel Service yesterday. Thank you for your continual support of the school. I am sure that you were just as impressed as the staff were by the boys' singing in the chapel.
This has been an incredibly busy term for our boys, and we are very proud of their commitment and achievements in all areas of school life. As mentioned by Revd. Bengani during yesterday’s service, many role players contribute to the achievement of success. Thank you to all our parents for the invaluable support you provide to both your sons and the school.
We wish you all a well-deserved rest and look forward to a short but action-packed fourth term.

Grade 4 - 7 Third Term Academic Progress
This term has been a full and exciting term, and the boys have been working very hard at their academics. There is no Term 3 report. Instead, we have been doing continuous assessments throughout the term in preparation for the Year End Report and you are able to monitor your son’s progress by viewing his marks on his MBL profile.
On Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd September teachers will be holding meetings with some parents whom they will contact directly but if you wish to set up a specific meeting, please contact your son’s form or subject teacher directly via email. |

Carnival - Message from the PA
Dear Parents
We could not have anticipated the incredible response to our Carnival! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, support and commitment to making this a truly memorable event for our boys and our school community.
The safety of our boys, together with ensuring that we are able to offer them a wonderful Carnival experience, remains our highest priority. For this reason, we have taken a measured and carefully considered approach to ticket numbers.
After extensive consultation and careful consideration, we are thrilled to let you know that, a further batch of Carnival tickets will be released
While we would love to accommodate as many people as possible, the event is subject to certain capacity and safety parameters. We therefore appeal to parents purchasing tickets to please prioritise Bishops boys and their immediate families first. This will also ensure that parents who are generously volunteering at the various stalls, games and activities have an opportunity to secure tickets for their own families before tickets are purchased for friends and extended family.

| Chapel Reflection - Nobody Flourishes Alone |
 |
| This week, as we gathered for our Family Day in Week 9 of Term 3, we reflected on Paul’s words in Philippians 2:1–4, where he encourages us not only to look to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. Using the simple picture of a rugby try, we were reminded that although one person may eventually cross the line, there are often many hands behind that moment — someone made the pass, created the space, offered encouragement or simply believed in us.
This is true not only on the sports field, but in our families and throughout our school community. Behind every boy’s growth and achievement are parents, teachers, coaches, friends and staff who, often quietly and without recognition, help him to flourish. Our boys, too, have opportunities every day to encourage, include, support and create space for others.
As we approach the end of Term 3 and look forward to a well-earned break, perhaps the question we can carry with us is not only, “What have I achieved?” but also, “Who is better because I am here?” Sometimes we will score the try; sometimes we will make the pass; and sometimes we will quietly create the space for someone else to succeed. All three matter.
Success has many hands on it. Nobody flourishes alone. |

| The Grade 3 boys were treated to an Adventure talk by Diana Johnson from “Teach the Wild” where they got to learn about different animals and how to be explorers. The boys were shown how to identify animal tracks, spot camouflaged insects as well as identify animals based on their fur or feathers. They learnt about the role every living thing has in our ecosystem. What a fascinating experience for our boys! |
