Dear Parents

As we head into the last few weeks of the term, we are grateful for the lovely weather and the endless possibility of being outdoors as much as possible with our boys.

Today we celebrated Founders Day or as our boys like to say Happy Birthday Bishops!. 173 years old, a school that started with 6 boys. What a fun day full of celebrations and ending off with the carnival this evening.  Who could ask for a bigger birthday party! We are very proud of our own Lubabalo Bam who represented the Pre-Prep with a speech to the whole school and even got a standing ovation from some of the college boys!!

We are excited to be able to welcome all our families back into the Chapel with our final family service on Monday and we encourage as many parents as possible to join us.  The College boys are in the chapel before us so we respectfully ask that our parents gather on the lawn outside the small Brooke Chapel while we wait for them to leave before we enter.

Next Friday (18th) we will be hosting about 80 of the VUSA creche children on a playdate with our boys.  This in honour of Archbishop Tutu whom we remember on this day.  We have wrapped our two trees at our entrances in fabric of his favourite colour and will be reading books written by him, in his memory. Togetherness is the theme and we will honour his memory proudly.  A big thank you to Col'Cacchio Pizza who have very kindly donated Pizza for our visitors!

Wishing Mrs Wallace a wonderful birthday on 16th. We do hope to see many of you at the carnival this evening!

Kind regards

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Message from our Youth Pastor

The Lord be with you

As we are drawing closer to the end of our first academic term of 2022, at the time when we too are slowly wanting to be living again and claim back our lives, let us continue to be thankful for the love of God that has spared us up until this moment and the strength Christ has given us to not give up in the face of everything.

And now slowly our school lives too are coming back, and on Monday 14th of March we will be having a Family service, a service some parents and boys haven’t yet experienced due to the pandemic. This service will be anchored very much on the hard work we have all had to do and the energy to not give up but rather continue to stride forward with determination and courage.

Let us pray

So I pray that the Lord will invest in us the strength to continue working hard, not giving up and finishing the things we have started. The gratitude and empathy to lend a helping hand to our friends and peers when they need us,and grant us the selflessness to cheer and clap for others as we acknowledge their efforts.

Amen

GENERAL INFO
Haircuts

It is that time of the term where the holiday haircuts just seem to be getting a little too long. Please could I ask that you trim boys hair as many have quite long fringes (and some long all over) and when running around, they are getting really hot and sweaty. Please be mindful of fashion haircuts, as they are not permitted. Thank you for your support.
HIGHLIGHTS
Grade N
Our Grade N captains, and shipmates have loved our Under the Sea theme which extends for another week. Birthday crowns were made to celebrate our 173rd birthday
Grade R

In Grade R we are learning about patterns in Maths. We can build a variety of patterns using blocks and bottletops. What fun!!

Grade 1

The Grade 1’s are still enjoying their under the sea theme. For the next 2 weeks they are learning about sharks. The boys created some fierce looking sharks during extra- mural art this week.

Grade 2

What an exciting time was had by the Grade 2s as they went to the Exotic Animal Sanctuary this past Tuesday. The boys got to see a few insects but were lucky enough to see and touch some creepy Crawley's like a few snakes, a couple of fossils and some very beautiful birds
