Dear Parents

Absolute JOY. That is the only word I can use to describe the little faces and the first few days we have experienced.  How absolutely wonderful to be able to welcome both boys and some parents onto our campus.  While we still need to be mindful of the regulations, we are at least able to be more flexible around parent access and small gatherings.

It was really great to see the turnout at the parent meetings we have had so far.  We are cognisant of the fact that only one parent was able to attend as our classroom spaces are rather small but would like to thank you all for your attendance. 

 

We hope to see all our new parents to Bishops at the cocktail party scheduled for next week.  The invitation has been sent out to those involved and we look forward to meeting you in a more relaxed environment.

 

Please can I ask that you take time to read this newsletter each week as it contains valuable information around Pre-Prep happenings.

 

We would like to wish Mrs Meredith and Mrs Fenandez a wonderful birthday on Wednesday 26th January.

 

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. We do hope we have sent happy, tired but content boys home this week.

Monday 23 January Grade 1 Parent Evening

Just a reminder about our Grade 1 parents evening that will take place at 6pm on Monday 23 January. We so look forward to seeing you.

Sport

The sport sign up forms have been sent out. We respectfully ask you to fill them out with your choices as soon as you can so that we can allocate coaches to the various areas. Please make a note of your choices and communicate to your son what he needs to attend on what day. Correct sport kit is essential so please make sure that their bags are packed, ready for their respective sport. If you are unsure about anything, please email your class teacher or Mrs Anstey: canstey@bishops.org.za  All afternoon activities will start on Monday 24 January and end on Friday 18 March.
My Bishops Life

If you are a new parent to the school, it is important that you sign up to My Bishops Life. This is a personalised portal where you will have access to your son's information as well as school policies and many other relevant documents. Our weekly newsletter will also be stored there for further perusal. Once you have registered and are on you son's page, there is a bar at the top that says Information and that offers a drop-down option to choose - For Pre-Prep parents. There you will find all the information you need including details of private coaches should boys wish to sign up for these activities. Pizza Fridays

Parents from Grade R to 2 please be on the lookout for the Pizza Friday pre-order form that will be sent out soon!  These will start from Friday 28 January.
 
PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Mr Lutho Tsotso

We would like to introduce you to Mr Lutho Tsotso who is our new Youth Minister in the place of Mr Jeremy Smith.  We are excited that Mr Tsotso has joined our team and look forward to a wonderful time of learning with him.
GENERAL INFO
Screening

Regulations still require anyone who enters our campus to be screened.  We are still looking for some willing mums and dads to help us with screening from 7am to 7.30am for those boys who attend early care. If you are able to assist us, please contact Ms Manyela to add your name to the list. We would really appreciate your help.
Second Hand Uniform Shop

Please note that the second hand school uniform shop (located at the prep school) will be open at the following times every week:

 

Tuesday 07:30-08:30

Thursday 07:30-08:30

Friday 12:00-13:00

HIGHLIGHTS
Grade N and R
These boys have had an amazing start to the year and we look forward to some fun and more laughter as the year progresses.  Work is fun and learning is lifelong.
Grade 1 and 2

 

The Grade 1 and 2 boys have had a rather busy but fantastic start to the year.  We can see that these boys are ready to learn and play this year and look forward to the year ahead.
