Dear Parents
As I reflect on my first year at Bishops Pre-Prep, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the warm and genuine welcome I received from the entire school community. From the moment I joined, the Bishops values of Manners, Integrity, Togetherness, Respect, and Empathy were not only spoken about but lived out in the actions of the staff, and most importantly, the boys.
One of the highlights of my journey has been witnessing the incredible passion and dedication of the teachers. Their tireless efforts to nurture, educate, and inspire the boys are evident in every lesson, every interaction, and every event. Whether it was the vibrant Colour Run celebrations, the delightful Grandparents' Day, or the poignant Nativity Play, the dedication of the teaching team shone through. The creativity and collaboration that went into each occasion were a testament to the strength and cohesion of the Bishops Pre-Prep staff.
The boys themselves have been our greatest teachers. Their curiosity, resilience, and boundless energy have been a source of inspiration. Their small acts of kindness and the way they embody the Bishops values have reminded me of the impact a nurturing environment can have on young minds.
Thank you to the Parents
A sincere thank you to all our parents for your generous donations towards our support staff this year. Your kindness and thoughtfulness are truly appreciated, and your contributions will bring much joy to those who work so hard behind the scenes to make our school a special place. Thank you too for all your support this year.
Farewell to staff
We say farewell to Lutho Tsotso, our Youth Pastor for the last three years, and thank him for sharing his faith with our boys, talking into their lives and the lives of staff. He will commence his theological studies next year and we wish him well in the next stage of his life journey.
We also say Farewell to Jane Bird, our Grade 1 and 2 art teacher for the past two years. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Grade 1 and 2 Art Teacher for inspiring creativity and nurturing a love for art in our boys over the years.
Your passion, dedication, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed—wishing you a joyful and fulfilling retirement!
Playground update
I am excited to share an update on our playground safety initiative. We are working closely with PlaySafe, a leading playground safety company, to ensure our playgrounds meet the highest safety standards for our boys. As part of this process, we will be upgrading all the surfaces and are in the final design stages of creating new, engaging play areas.
We are hopeful work will begin during the holidays and will continue into the new term. Collaborating with a landscape architect and PlaySafe, we aim to achieve an accredited safe playground—one of the first of its kind in South Africa. We look forward to providing our boys with a safer, more exciting play environment soon! Thank you for your support as we create a safe and enjoyable space for our boys.
Happy birthday to Ms Sinovuyo Tukwayo for the 12th December and Ms Carron Merrick for the 21st December.
Kind regards
TARYN BAIN
