Dear Parents
We have passed the half way mark of this term and things are getting more and more exciting. The rehearsals for the school musical are happening with much excitement. A gentle reminder that many rehearsals will take place in the last few days of the term so please do not be tempted to take off early for the holidays. They are long enough to be able to enjoy some family time during the almost 3 week break. Today we will welcome all the boys and their families to Lugtensvale Fields for our Fun Sports and a picnic time of getting to know one another. Please note that parking is always tricky so you need to be mindful of blocking driveways and parking respectfully. Security will be there to guide you so please take heed of their directions. For the safety of our children, only vendors and staff will be allowed to park inside the gates. See you all at 4pm this afternoon! Wishing Mr Brown a happy birthday on Monday.
Kind regards
SHARLENE GROOM

Message from Mr Tsotso
The Lord be with you
This week we celebrated Ash Wednesday which is the beginning of the season of Lent. This is a time when we remember that God looks at us with new eyes and gives us an opportunity to live our lives according to his will. This is also a time of reflection and rededication where ensure that we are in right relationship with God. But most importantly, after experiencing this forgiving nature of God, it is right for us to forgive others.
Now may the mercy of God surround us as we offer our hearts to the Lord
Amen |

GENERAL INFO |
Pentangula Gala |
|
We are exceptionally proud of our four U8 boys who took part in the Pentangular gala held at SACS on Tuesday 21 February. Well done to Luke Morkel, Ethan McCallum, Tiga Kowarski and Fionn Gubbins. Luke and Ethan did us proud in their individual races and all the boys swam very well in the relay races. We swam against SACS, Rondebosch, Wynberg and WPPS. Rondebosch won the gala and Bishops came 3rd. This gala took place in the evening and our boys had lots of fun swimming with swimmers from the Prep School. Thanks to our parents who come to support the boys too. |

HIGHLIGHTS |
Grade 2 |
|
Grade 2 has been a hive of activity this week. In class, the boys have been learning some fascinating facts about insects and now know how to identify an insect apart from the other bugs they see crawling around their gardens and play areas. They continue to enjoy our weekly Library lessons and have commented on how much they like being able to choose one fiction and one non-fiction book to take home and enjoy. |
Grade 1 |
|
This week the Grade 1’s began exploring the Coral reef. During our art lesson we designed a collaborative ocean background and used our paper tearing skills to decorate some sea creatures. We had such fun fishing for some fishy sight words. Mr Rheeler, our principal, came for a visit, and we learnt all about the importance of love. The boys also enjoyed some pancakes on Shrove Tuesday in preparation for Lent. We are so excited for our Aquarium outing next week. |
Grade R |
|
This week our boys started exploring their senses. Great excitement brewed as little ‘boy bands’ emerged all over the playground! Some were lead singers, others instrumental artists – the songs were quite entertaining! We also had our Dog Show hosted by DogzCool, which had the boys applauding with sheer delight at the brilliant tricks learnt by Lloyd’s dogs.
We also learnt about Munching Mike’s sound, and made all sorts of arts and crafts to mmmmatch the letter. |
Grade N |
|
The Grade N’s have had a super busy week learning about pets. Our fantasy area was turned into a Vet where boys enjoyed administering medication to some soft toys! On Tuesday we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with pancakes – we loved our delicious cinnamon and sugar pancakes which we shared with one another. We celebrated Ash Wednesday with Mr Tsotso telling the Grade N’s a story about Palm Sunday, with some boy’s receiving ashes on their foreheads. On Thursday, The Dog Show was a big hit with Lloyd from Dogzcool introducing us to all his furry friends who entertained the boys on the field. We have practiced for our fun races on Friday and cannot wait to picnic at Lutgensvale where the big boys play sport. See you there! |
Ash Wednesday |
|
The Grade R, 1 and 2 boys joined together in the Brooke Chapel to celebrate Ash Wednesday. Some boys chose to recieve ashes, others just a blessing. Thank you to Mr Tsotso and Mrs Green for making it a wonderful service! |
