Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of the year, there’s a special kind of magic in the air at school! The arrival of our mischievous Christmas elves has brought endless delight, sparking curiosity and laughter throughout the classrooms. Their daily antics and cheerful messages remind us of the joy and wonder of this season, making each day an adventure for our boys. As I walk through the school in the morning, each group of boys cannot wait to tell and show me what their elf has been up to. A lot of mischief indeed!

The halls are alive with the sounds of Christmas as the Grade N and R boys prepare for their much-anticipated Nativity Play. Their hard work and dedication to learning their lines and perfecting their songs are inspiring. The beautiful music has not only filled our school with joy but has also travelled home, creating festive cheer in your families. We can’t wait to share this heartfelt performance with you and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas together tomorrow.

Looking ahead to next week, the Grade 1 and 2 boys are excited to take centre stage at the Carol Evening. This cherished event is always a highlight on our calendar, and the boys are ready to charm you with their sweet voices and festive spirit. Please join us for an evening of carols, community, and celebration as we reflect on a wonderful year and the joys of the season.
We are deeply grateful for your overwhelming support of the support staff hampers. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to pack thoughtful and much-appreciated gifts for the incredible people who keep our school running smoothly. A special thank-you goes to the moms who dedicated their time to help pack these hampers – your kindness embodies the true spirit of giving.

Finally, our Grade N to 1 boys are eagerly looking forward to Meet Your Teacher Day on 4 December, a moment of excitement and anticipation for the boys as they meet their new teachers and friends. This day marks the beginning of a fresh chapter, and we hope it will inspire confidence and curiosity as they prepare for the year ahead.

Hunter’s Memorial Service takes place this afternoon, which I know many of us will be attending. We hold Shirley, Barry and Finn in our thoughts and prayers as we celebrate Hunter’s life.

Wishing you all a festive and joyful end to the term!

Kind regards

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Message from Mr Tsotso

Joel 2:25, - “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.”

Seasons of loss can feel devastating like the locusts described in Joel, stripping away what once brought joy, security, and purpose. Yet, God's promise to His people is one of restoration and rebuilding. This scripture reminds us that God is not only a healer but a restorer, capable of redeeming even the lost years of our lives. His restoration doesn’t merely replace what was taken; it brings growth, beauty, and abundance that surpass what was before. While we may not always understand His timing, we can trust His heart—He is working to rebuild what feels broken and renew our hope.

Let us Pray:
Gracious God, You are the restorer of broken places and the healer of wounded hearts. In seasons of loss, remind us of Your promise to rebuild and restore. Fill us with hope, knowing that You work all things for good. Help us to trust Your timing and lean into Your unfailing love. Restore to us what has been lost, and teach us to see Your hand at work in ways we cannot yet imagine.
In Jesus' name, we pray.

Amen

HIGHLIGHTS
Grade N

It has been the most exciting time learning about experiments! From rocketing balloons, candles in jars that can't stay alight, whiteboard marker drawings lifting on a plate with water to sunlight liquid in milk repelling food colouring, the list goes on. Coach Jeanne had such fun with our boys in her last lesson. Her parachute was a real treat for the boys to play with. The boys were asked to make the balls jump off the parachute whilst skipping and balancing. Coach Jeanne has an incredible way of getting the boys to work hard without even realising it! Their highlight was hiding underneath the parachute to play hide and seek. A few days before our experiments theme the boys enjoyed a treasure hunt for pirate loot. Some gold chocolate coins were found in the sandpit. The treasure was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Grade R

With 8 school days to go, and our year almost done, our boys are buzzing with end of term zeal! From the excitement for the Nativity Play tomorrow, to the fun day we are planning for the Farewell to Grade R party, we are winding down to fun activities and merry cheer. Our Christmas Elf is soon coming to visit.. watch this space! More to follow about our fun day, so keep an eye out for the information!

Grade 1

The Grade 1s have had an action-packed couple of weeks! Last Friday, we had our Trading Day, and the boys were buzzing with excitement as they created 10 items to sell to their friends. The Grade 1 area was filled with cheer as they advertised their products and eagerly started buying and selling. They picked up some valuable lessons about money and trade, making it one of the highlights of their year. We’ve also been busy practising for the Carol service and enjoyed a delightful Nativity play by the Grade N and R students. The mischievous elves have arrived and are causing all sorts of fun trouble. As the end of the year approaches, a bit of nostalgia is setting in as we prepare to say goodbye to Grade 1.

Grade 2

The Grade 2 boys had an exciting outing to the Science Centre, blending hands-on exploration with discovery. The day began with a visit to the Light Room, where the boys explored light, reflection, and colour. They were fascinated by how light interacts with surfaces to create shadows and rainbows.

Next, they marvelled at a giant outdoor camera, learning about its mechanics and how it captures images, inspiring them with the potential of technology. The wind tunnel challenge was a highlight, where the boys had to create an object that could float without being too heavy or light. This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork and problem-solving.

The boys also had time to explore interactive exhibits, deepening their appreciation for science and its applications. Outings like this are invaluable, helping students connect classroom theories to the real world while fostering curiosity, resilience, and teamwork.
