Dear Parents

We are excited to start our Readathon week next week.  We have allowed our Grade R boys to take out library books in their newly acquired library bags, so they too can join in the fun! Mrs Wallace has put together an exciting programme for the boys so please make sure you keep a note of what is happening each day.  We have a wonderful selection of story readers who will come across from the Prep and College to read stories to the boys at various times during the week.

We will be collecting any books you may wish to donate.  There will be a basket in the foyer and we hope to be able to donate our collection to Little Libraries and the new Vusa mobile library. Now is a good chance to scan your bookshelves and to find books that your children may have grown tired of or they have outgrown, and that you are happy to part with.

We have had no new boys testing positive for covid this week which is encouraging, but by no means is it an indication that we can relax any of our protocols.

Wishing you all a safe and warm weekend.

Kind regards

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Message from our Youth Pastor

A prayer for this half term  as we aim to be refreshed and renewed in the love of God. Let us pause and thank God for all his blessing on us as a school community.

Lord God, we thank You for our school family and our wider community. Thank You for all that You have given us to explore and be curious about in our lessons and in our leisure time outside of the curriculum. Guided by Your Holy Spirit, inspire us as we journey through this half term, as we seek to put our learning into action. Help us to be active like the Disciples and courageously cast our nets out into the deep, ready to be engaged within the wonderful world You have created, as we strive to change what we can, with Your help, for the better. In the Name of Jesus, Your Son, we make our prayer.  Amen.

GENERAL INFO
Sport and other items

Many sport and other items are found around the school but sadly are not marked so it is not always possible to return them to their owners.  Please could we ask that each item (hockey stick, tennis racquet, lunch box and water bottle) is clearly marked. School shoes and takkies are also not always marked and it is therefore rather difficult to find their owners.

HIGHLIGHTS
Grade N
Our boys have been learning about reptiles this week - sensory activities with shaving cream and foam blocks making an outside office. Despite the cold weather, being out and about is the best!
Grade R - STEM activities

Science , technology, engineering and math activities were the most exciting part of the Grade R week! The creativity spilled over into all our playground activities with boys using logs and wooden blocks in the sandpit, and to create and design incredibly unique structures!

Grade 2 music concert

The Grade 2’s were treated to a mini concert today. Our musicians have been working hard and their great talent was applauded as the boys listened to a number of their pieces on the piano and recorder. Thank you to Mrs Swanich for organising this special occasion.
