Dear Parents
Thank you to all those parents that attended the talk by Ilze Alberts this week. We do trust you have more courage to have these conversations.
This afternoon we had our first little internal tag rugby tournament during our normal tag time. This is a tough but necessary introduction to winning and losing for the boys and often there are lots of tears. Next week we will have many conversations around sportsmanship, which is a very important life lesson. We are planning a rather exciting tag rugby event on Friday 5 August from 1 - 2 pm which is the normal tag rugby time. It is still on the Bishops grounds so any parents that would like to come and watch, please diarise in the meantime. More information will follow.
Reports will be available on your son's profile on My Bishops Life. Please check that you are still able to access this profile before Wednesday to avoid any frustration with not being able to access your son's report.
This will be the final newsletter of the term, as next Friday is a school holiday so, please take note of the important dates for the rest of this term and the start of next term.
Wishing Mrs van Zyl, Ms Tandwa, Mrs Green and Mrs Durham a very happy birthday as they celebrate during the holidays! Wishing all those families travelling during the holidays, safe travels and may you all enjoy some quality time with your children.
Kind regards
SHARLENE GROOM

PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP |
Message from our Youth Pastor
The Lord be with you
Let us pray
Loving and Sovereign Lord we thank you for fellowship; Fellowship that goes far beyond what we see and what we feel, but the kind of fellowship that is beyond human understanding and does not gloat about difference but on similarities. May you keep us in such custody and relation with everyone we come to encounter, in the name of the Jesus we pray.
Amen |

Just a little reminder for those parents asking: The two main team leaders at our gates are as follows: Mr Zolani Mthintsilana at the Sandown Road gate and Miss Ncebekazi Baninzi at the hall gate. Our boys address all adults that work at Bishops by their titles - Mr Mthintsilana and Miss Baninzi.

HIGHLIGHTS |
Grade 2 |
 |
Our Grade 2’s learnt about the trinity and unity using the analogy of a triangle during their Divinity lesson with Father Monwabisi. They also had fun working with money and clocks in small group lessons in the classroom. There was great excitement at our last hockey session for Grade 2 boys on Woodlands Astro where they had fun playing some mini-matches. |
Grade 1 |
 |
Our story of the week has been the 'Sheep in the Jeep'. We have had so much fun exploring our phonics sound 'ee'. We have tweeted our news, coded with Bee Bots, written about the sheep and some of our boys can now eeeesily tie their shoelaces! |
Grade R |
 |
The Grade R boys were spinning with the theme of Arachnids! We crafted and drew, and painted and moulded spiders and had so much fun exploring these interesting minibeasts. The ‘O’ for Oscar Orange letter brought Oranges galore, and we had great joy in throwing our oranges against the wall to make ‘baby bottles’. ‘I’ve never eaten such a delicious orange!’, some exclaimed! Now there’s no excuse for not eating oranges, boys!
Coding took a front seat as we made the Pirate walk the plank, stepping into the grid, following the ‘maties’ instructions to reach a 3-D shape. Then we used our bodies in space, and blindfolded, had our friend tap us on the head or shoulder to show the way to proceed and land up on the 3-D shape of choice. Well done, lovely boys! You are true explorers! |
Grade N

Our theme in Grade N this week has been 'Children of the World'. Some of the countries we 'visited' were Ireland, Lesotho, Australia just to name a few. We ended the week off with a picnic where we tasted delicious items from across the globe.
