Dear Parents

The campus has been a hive of activity after many, many dormant months! This week we hosted our new Grade N boys in small groups, to welcome them to the Bishops Family. It is hard to think that our group of grade two boys will soon be moving over to the Prep campus to begin their Prep journey in a short while!

While we got a little taste of summer this week, a gentle reminder that there are still some chilly days so please be sure to send a jersey to school for those days that the weather turns cold.

Please can we ask parents to carefully monitor the games that boys play online as well as the amount of screen time they are allowed.  It has come to our attention that many of the games that boys are playing are not appropriate to their age and stage of development and these games are being played out on the playground, ending in tears and disagreements. Please have a look at the pop ups and disable or delete things that should not be on there. Many of these games carry an age restriction way beyond the ages of the boys. We will be addressing this with the boys as well, in the near future.  Teams is not a platform for boys to communicate with each other. It is a platform that the school uses to communicate with the boys when online learning is required. Please could we ask that parents keep an eye on their son's teams page and remind them that they may not use this for communicating with one another for any other reason but for school issues.

Wishing you all a less windy but wonderful weekend.

Kind regards

DIARY DATES
Friday 29 October Grade N picnic

I am sure all the Grade N parents have been notified of this family picnic.  If not, please contact your class rep for further details.
TAKE NOTE
Photographs

Today we had our photographer in, taking team photographs. As soon as they are ready, you will be notified. They will be available on the same platform as their individual school pictures.
Tour guides

We would like to offer parents an opportunity to visit their son's classroom.  With covid restrictions this is obviously rather tricky.  What we have decided is that we will invite boys to become TOUR GUIDES for their own parents, for a guided tour through the school and for a quick visit to their classroom.  This will be on certain days, first thing in the morning.  We will put together a booking system with more details and send it out as soon as possible. We will start with Grade N and R and then after that, open it up to Grade 1 and 2 parents, as this will need to be after we have finished with all the filming so please just be a little patient.
PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP
Message from our Youth Pastor

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear “– 1 John 4:18

Fear is a very powerful force. It can make us feel we are making the wrong choices. It can make us fear a lack of control. It can make us fear being viewed as bad people. Fear can make us feel we are not enough. Instead of fear, God longs for us to see goodness and love. This good love that comes from God gives us the courage to face our fear and boldness to live in freedom.

So how do we transition from fear to love?

The view of a distant, angry God is a myth that needs to be debunked. Rather than distant we should view God as a loving parent. The steadfast love of God serves an invitation to us. An invitation to receive love, acceptance, and welcome. The steadfast love of God never ceases, God’s mercy never comes to an end.
