Dear Parents

We have been blessed with another fabulous week of wonderful weather and happy children.  This week we have started our extra mural programme and the boys have loved being able to play sport with their friends.

At our first chapel service this week, the boys were introduced to Mr Lutho Tsotso, who will take our Grade R - 2 boys for divinity lessons and speak at some chapel services.  We welcome Mr Tsotso to the Bishops team.

Thank you to the parents who have ensured that the boys have their correct uniforms, sports kit and have had haircuts. This is very appreciated.

A gentle reminder that the drop and go area outside the main reception is only for dropping boys off.  Please do not park or disembark from your car in this space as it slows down traffic - both college and Pre-Prep boys need to use this facility.   If it is your day to visit your son's classroom, kindly park and enter via the small gate up at the hall or at the Woodlands parking area, across the field.

Today was the first pizza day for Grade R - 2. A lot of delicious chomping was happening and what a treat for our first time Grade R boys to finally receive their pizza.  Thank you to those mums who came to help!

We wish Mrs Desire Swanich a very happy birthday on Wednesday 2 February! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Kind regards

Mrs Jane Durham presenting on Muscle Mania in Grade R

We are delighted to host our first coffee connections in our school hall. This is particularly aimed at Grade R parents as their son is busy with the Muscle Mania programme.  Please come and enjoy some coffee, information about Muscle Mania and a chance to ask questions.

TAKE NOTE

Term Dates 2023

Sport

Please note that sport is not cancelled due to bad weather at the Pre-Prep.  There will be supervision for boys that would usually attend a school sport, until their usual finish time. Should there be any other reason that we would need you to fetch boys, we would notify you at 12 o'clock (a little earlier for Grade R boys) but this is really on very very few occasions when it is unavoidable.
PRE-PREP PRAYER GROUP

Message from our Youth Pastor

The Lord be with you

This week we were reminded about the star that shined from the East and led the Magi to where baby Jesus was to be born and where they presented to Him their different gifts. This message affirmed for us that we all have stars that shine bright in our lives and help us navigate our ways through all grades and situations.

Let us pray:

Lord God of light and in whom we find our way, as we start a new journey of this blessed year help us in finding our way to your presence and let us bring forth the different gifts you have blessed us with, and also to work together.

Blessings

GENERAL INFO
Manners

We are working hard on using good manners.  Please encourage your son to greet people he passes - setting a good example is the best way to learn. Good morning or Good afternoon are always a good start.
HIGHLIGHTS
Grade N and R

Grade N were learning about our new school this week. We have had so much fun exploring our new school taking part in Physical Literacy and music for the first time this week.

Gr R: Come and enjoy a lovely meal at the Grade R restaurant! We can build amazing bridges and we have many Lego builders hard at work!

Grade 1

The Grade 1’s are having fun learning to read and even reading some stories at home. Welcome to Mr Tsoso, it was lovely to have you join us in Chapel!

Grade 2

The Grade 2 boys have had a full first week back, and have been kept busy on the sports field and in the classroom. They had their first Divinity lesson for the year with Mr Tsotso and thoroughly enjoyed their time with him. The boys have settled into their new classes well and are very hard at work. What a good start to the year! I’m sure there are lots of good things in store for us.
